PHOTOS: Tefillin Awareness Project – Hanacha K’Halacha In Monsey

This past Sunday, members of Bais Yisroel of Monsey, had the unique opportunity of having a myriad of Tefillin issues examined and corrected, all Free of Charge to the participant. Rav Dovid Margareten, the mora d’asra, was delighted to host the program in his shul, and the Misallelim showed much joy and appreciation, to have this wonderful opportunity.

Last year, Dovid Krakowski, a resident of Airmont, davened in a Brooklyn shul where this program was taking place. He was so moved by seeing all the corrections being made with many people’s Tefillin, he took it upon himself to help Avrohom B. Schachter, the founder of Hanacha K’halacha, find shuls, like Bais Yisroel, that would like to host this special program. He has since help organize programs in Passaic and Monsey and is presently working on more shuls in the Five Towns and Riverdale.

To date approximately 150 yeshivas and shuls have taken advantage of this monumental chesed l’shaim shomayim, having corrected literally thousands of pairs of Tefillin. The program is endorsed by many Rabbonim and Admorim, including HaRav Shmuel Kamenetsky, Harav Yisroel Belsky, HaRav Simcha Bunim Cohen, and HaRav Moshe Tuvia Lieff.
