Second Fatal Accident On Palisades Parkway In 3 Days [UPDATED]

The Palisades Interstate Parkway southbound in Nanuet was shut for much of the overnight hours this morning because of a fatal one-car accident. This was the second fatal accident on the parkway in Rockland County in three days, following an early-morning incident in New City on Friday. This morning’s accident took place just before 1 a.m. near the Exit 8 interchange of the parkway. The accident was being investigated by State Police. On Friday, a Pomona man was killed when his car slammed into the rear of an Orange and Rockland Utilities truck that was heading northbound just past Exit 11 in New City. The O&R workers were not injured in that incident.
