At 1:28PM on Sunday afternoon, The Ramapo Police Department answered a report of a motor vehicle accident with a rollover on Route 59 in front of the Colonial Square at Airmont.
An individual driving a 2010 Honda Civic, pulled out of the Tall Pines Industrial Park, 382 Route 59, onto State Highway 59, into a 2011 Nissan Altima traveling westbound on Route 59. The Altima veered toward the eastbound lane, sideswiping a 1998 Infinity I30, operated by a 67-year-old male, from Monsey, NY. The Altima, according to witnesses, then rolled two times coming to rest in the entrance of Colonial Square at Airmont.
Both the male operator and female passenger of the Altima were transported to Westchester County Medical Center by Hatzolah Ambulance with multiple injuries. Personnel from Hatzolah Ambulance reported that their injuries were not life threatening. The drivers of the other two vehicles suffered minor injuries.
The driver of the 2010 Honda Civic, was issued one traffic ticket for New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law Section 1143, failure to yield while entering a roadway.
The investigation into this accident is continuing.
