On Sunday morning, at approximately 2:10AM, Ramapo Police responded to a reported motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Route 202 and Old Route 202 in Town of Ramapo. Responding officers located a silver 1998 BMW that sustained significant damage to the undercarriage and both driver and passenger sides after going off the roadway and striking several large boulders and a large gate post.
There were six occupants in the vehicle at the time of the crash. All occupants were taken to area hospitals for evaluation by Ramapo Valley Ambulance and Rockland County Paramedics. No serious injuries were sustained in the crash. All occupants were treated and released later this date.
The 26 year old vehicle operator, Serge J. Dieu, of Spring Valley was arrested and charged with DWI.
