On Wednesday 08/29/12 at approximately at 2:30PM, the Spring Valley Police Department received a call about three black males, that robbed an Hispanic woman at the corner of Franklin Street and Van Orden Ave. Her jewelry was torn off her face, and the suspects then fled. A description of one of the suspects and the vehicle he was driving was given to officers. The vehicle was a blue Nissan Pathfinder.
After about an hour later, an officer noticed the vehicle entering the gas staion located at 1 Union road at the corner of Maple avenue. The officer immediately requested for backup to stop the suspects.
About ten police cruisers were on scene with in seconds and – at gun point – had all the passengers exit the vehicle.
All of them were taken into custody by Spring Valley Police Detectives.
The Rockland County BCI was also requested to the scene for investigations.
An ambulance and medics responded to the Spring Valley Police Station House for the injured robbery victim, which is currently in stable condition.
