On 08/29/12 at approximately 10:15 PM, Ramapo Police responded to the scene of a one car accident at the intersection of Route 45 southbound and Palisades Parkway Exit 12. A 2006 Land Rover Discovery was observed to have crashed into the support post for the traffic signals hanging over the intersection. The vehicle sustained significant front end damage. The vehicle operator and sole occupant, Ravi K. Abdul age 44 of Stony Point, sustained lacerations to the face and head.
Rockland County Paramedics and Spring Hill Ambulance were on scene and transported Mr. Abdul to Nyack Hospital.
Mr. Abdul was arrested and charged with DWI, DWAI Drugs, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Open container of alcohol in the vehicle and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st degree (felony).
He was issued several additional summonses for vehicle and traffic violations.
He was treated and released at Nyack Hospital. Subsequently he was taken back to Ramapo PD where he was processed, arraigned and remanded to Rockland County Jail.
